From Vintage Throw to Poncho
I was cruising Value Village the other day and found this vintage throw blanket (3.99) in just the right colors.  My daughter wanted a poncho and I figured this was a great and inexpensive way to quickly make one for her.

After washing and drying, I folded the blanket in half like a triangle then folded it over again in a triangle in order to cut the neck hole in a curved pattern.  Cut only a few inches at first so you don't cut too big of a hole!

Then, I did a whipstich variation around the neckline with hot pink yarn.  At every lengthwise stitch on the bottom I made a french knot, so there are these little balls going across the bottom of the stitch on the neckline.

She loves it and says it's very warm!
