Bamboo Chopstick Knitting Needles
If you haven't had a chance to make a pair of these yet, now's the time.  Just think, you can make a pair for everyone on your Christmas Crafty list.

What you'll need:

1 pair of chopsticks (you can use the ones provided at your local Asian eatery or purchase a pack of 10 at Walmart for $3)

Fimo Clay
Pencil Sharpener
Emery Board
Clear spray paint
Tung Oil

With the pencil sharpener, round off the ends to a dull point.  Use your emery board to sand up and down the stick and the ends to make them smooth.

With the fimo clay, shape as desired (I stamped "knit" on the ends of mine), stick the other end of the chopstick in the clay and bake for 1 hour at 250 degrees.

Let cool.  Rub the sticks with tung oil which will make them smooth.  Then spray the fimo clay ends with clear spray paint.  Let dry.

The needles size is apprx. a 6.  I cut a piece of felt wide enough for a case then attached one of my recycled silver stitch markers on the other side and the case has a snap closure.  Use pinking sheers and trim the sides.

Purchase a couple balls of yarn and this makes a great gift!
